Our director has been performing obesity surgery for the last 22 years. The last 14 have been devoted to this discipline exclusively.

Dr. Capella has made several important contributions to the development of obesity surgery. He has numerous publications in medical journals and has lectured around the world. He has taught his technique to many obesity surgeons in this country and from abroad. He has one the lowest rate of complication reported in the world. Dr. Capella has performed more than 4,000 obesity procedures.

Dr. Joseph F. Capella has one of the largest experiences in body contouring procedures following massive weight loss in the United States

and is a nationally-recognized expert. He has personally performed over 3000 body contouring procedures on patients following massive weight loss. Dr. Capella lectures regularly on his techniques in national and international plastic surgery conferences.

Weight loss following obesity surgery or as a result of lifestyle changes can lead to significant changes in one's appearance. With few exceptions, individuals following significant weight loss develop generalized or focal areas of excess develop generalized or focal areas of skin. Body contouring surgery can not only make one feel more comfortable but can dramatically increase self-esteem.
